berth

By Megan stratford

Berth is one woman’s journey from darkness to light.  The poems in this debut collection take the reader through the innocence of discovering nature alongside her father and through the turbulence of adolescence.  Much like a river, Berth weaves the memories of the past with the hope for a great future.  In nature, we learn who we are and who we want to become.  This collection showcases her unique sense of style.

“Every once in a while, a book comes along that reminds me of how transcendent truly good writing can be, full of wonder and mystery and elegance, against the backdrop of an otherwise cynical age. ”

Malcolm Brooks, best-selling author

To read this book is to understand the semiotic relationship of humans and the earth in an entirely new way.
— Lori Howe, author of Cloudshade and Voices at Twilight
Berth invites the reader on a spiritual journey through landscapes of beauty and wildness, examining both the enormity of nature and its details- from mountains to beetles, from fir trees to dandelions.
— Kris Bigalk, author of Repeat the Flesh in Numbers and Enough
This collection of poetry I will read over and over again as each individual work provides endless muse and retrospection.
